PaceMark Privacy Policy

Draft status: this is a first draft, written to be accurate to what PaceMark actually does and will do, not generic boilerplate. A competent draft is not a substitute for an actual legal review — get one before this is treated as final, especially given potential exposure under India's DPDP Act 2023 and/or EU GDPR depending on who installs the app.

The short version

PaceMark stores all of your task, project, and schedule data only on your own device. There is no account, no login, and no server PaceMark sends your data to — it has none to send it to. If you delete the app, that data is gone unless you've used the app's own Export feature to save a backup file yourself.

What data PaceMark itself collects

None, beyond what you enter into the app (tasks, folders, lists, notes, time-tracking entries) — which is stored locally in your device's own app storage (IndexedDB, inside the app's WebView) and never transmitted anywhere by PaceMark's own code. PaceMark has no backend server, no analytics SDK, and no user accounts.

Permissions PaceMark requests, and why

• Internet access — reserved for serving ads (see "Advertising" below). PaceMark's own features (tasks, calendar, recurrence, time tracking, notifications, the home-screen widgets) make no network calls at all.
• Notifications — used only to show reminders for tasks you've set a reminder or recurring time for. Never used for anything else (no marketing/re-engagement notifications).

Advertising

PaceMark is funded by ads served through Google AdMob. When ads are shown, Google's AdMob SDK may collect information used to serve and measure ads, which can include:

• Your device's advertising ID
• Approximate location (derived from IP address)
• App usage and interaction data related to ad performance

This data is collected and processed by Google under Google's own Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure, not by PaceMark directly. You can review or reset your device's advertising ID, and opt out of personalized advertising, in your device's own privacy settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

Children's privacy

PaceMark is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region) and does not knowingly collect data from them beyond what AdMob's own non-personalized/child-safe ad settings already restrict when the Play Store's "Designed for Families" / age-rating answers require it.

Data deletion

Since all task data lives only on your device, uninstalling PaceMark deletes it completely. There is no PaceMark-controlled server copy to separately request deletion of.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change, and the current version will always be reachable from the same URL and from the app's own Settings screen.
